CCC informing Northern business community on Topsectorenbeleid

Route to mutual benefits

To inform the Northern business community about the ongoing developments in the Topsectorenbeleid in the fields of Food & Nutrition, TCNN , HANNN, UMCG in cooperation with NOM and CCC held a meeting on 13 January 2012 in Drachten. After short introductions from among others Siert Bruins, CCC, executives and research managers gave their comments on current developments. Comments which are included in the feedback with the top teams AgroFood and Life Sciences and Health.

Interview with Simone Albrecht, PhD

Demand for improved formula baby food

Simone Albrecht is one of the first graduates within the Carbohydrate Competence Center (CCC) work program-mes. Albrecht, born German, graduated at Wageningen University on her research "Gastrointestinal-active oligosaccharides from human milk and functional foods". She studied the structural changes of functional oligosaccharides during their passage through the gastrointestinal tract with focus on infant nutrition and breast milk. Albrecht was able to demonstrate the importance of certain oligosaccharide structures during their gastrointestinal passage.

Nico Arfman joins management team.

Matchmaker between research and business

As of November 2011 the Carbohydrate Competence Center (CCC) management team has been reinforced with the arrival of Nico Arfman, Business Manager. Together with his colleagues Lubbert Dijkhuizen, Fons Voragen and Siert Bruins, Arfman will primarily focus on the quality of ongoing work packages, the development of new project initiatives, the expansion of the CCC network and the continuity of future funding.

Positionering van CCC in de Topsectoren

In Nederland is de discussie over de topsectoren in volle gang. Het CCC heeft - als gekend en erkend publiek privaat consortium - met diverse industriele partners geprobeerd hier invulling aan te geven om zo voor oude en nieuwe partners de verbinding naar de topsectoren te kunnen maken. In het EVMI nieuws (zie link) wordt het CCC genoemd als een van de 2 bestaande Topconsortia voor Kennis en Innovatie (TKI) in de Topsector Agro & Food.

CCC wint Piek award

Op 29 juni 2010 ontving CCC uit handen van minister Maria van der Hoeven en Commissaris der Koningin van Drenthe Jacques Tichelaar de Piek Award voor het meest aansprekende project in de Piek Agribusiness.
